    1. WHIO is still free and on the air. If you're still not picking it up you can try a rescan on your TV or converter box or try pressing 4 1 on your remote. Channel 7 WHIO is actually broadcasting on channel 41 since the digital transition.

Please let me know if you have the channel back or not.

  2. We suddenly lost our dayton (45.1) and cincy (19.1) Fox stations on our digital indoor antenna. All other channels work fine, and have moved the rabbit ears, etc. Any suggestions or thoughts? Is Fox 45 coming in for everyone else?

    1. Not sure why you would lose those two channels and no others but one of the first things I would try is a rescan of the TV or converter box if you're using one. Sometimes the tuner will drop a channel and you have to rescan to get it back.
      Good luck.

  3. Is there a way to scan for channels if we lost our remote? We can't get WKEF.

    1. If it's a converter box, probably not. You could check Ebay for either a new box or just the remote.

  4. I lost channel 2 and 2.1 rescan does nothing its not even showing up as it was ever there and in my living room I don't get ion like 2 but in bedroom I do but 2 is just gone any suggestions that's not rescan cuz that don't work

  5. For channel 2 you could try putting in channel 50 on the remote control since that's channel 2's real channel number. For Escape TV try 50.3 or 50-3.

Ion is a diginet on channel 26 and if you're getting a signal on 26, Ion should come in too. If not, something is wrong with the channel scan function. BTW, Ion is real channel 26.2 so try punching that in on the remote too.

  6. We have 2.3 now with The Justice Network.

Still hoping to see Buzzr in the Dayton (or Columbus), market soon!

  7. Does DATV have an over the air channel. Not the religious programming.

  8. Have you ever been able to pick up WWRD-LP CH 42

I see they have Heartland and Retro TV

    ReplyDelete
  9. I use to pick them up before I moved and they aired Retro TV back then. Thing is, WWRD is still an analog channel so they can broadcast only one channel until (and if) they upgrade to digital. Any listings showing WWRD carrying Heartland and Retro TV are referring to what the station will have after going digital.

I'm really glad you mentioned WWRD, Bob, because Dayton actually has two analog channels still on the air. The other one is WRCX channel 40. WRCX was suppose to go digital in 2009 but something went wrong and they remain on the air as an analog TV channel.

  10. Thanks for the reply, so is this info up to date?

  11. RabbitEars.info is a great site and usually very up to date. I've seen listings there for new subs/diginets coming to Dayton and Cincinnati that I wasn't aware of and that's why RabbitEars.info is one of my favorite "go to" sites for information posted here.

Their listing for WWRD has been the same for at least a couple of years so while it certainly isn't up to date, the change from analog to digital for WWRD is still pending.

  12. Why is 45.1.2.3 not coming ?in

    ReplyDelete
  13. Also 22.1.2.3.4 not either

    ReplyDelete
  14. They're both coming in so try channel 18 (for 22) and channel 30 (for 45). If that doesn't work move the antenna and try 18 and 30 again.

  15. So, I live in the 45459 area south of Dayton, and have found I no longer can get Cincy channel 12. I have no problems getting 5,9,19,48,and 64. But for what ever reason, I can't get channel 12. Today, I raised the antenna about 2 feet, and pointed it at 212 degrees (towards Channel 12) No Luck.

We also get Dayton stations 2,7,16,22,26,45 ... After looking at antennaweb.org, I expect that I would get channel 12, since its the same direction and distance as many of the other Cincy sations. Any thoughts?

    1. WKRC 12 is the only VHF channel around and being VHF they are more difficult to receive than most UHF channels. Since it came in previously you might (if you haven't already) lower the antenna back down since sometimes TV signals come in better when the antenna is lower. Other than that you might want to add a preamp to your antenna system if it doesn't already have one. A preamp will boost the signal strength which is probably all you need to get channel 12 back in. If you do get a preamp be sure it's for VHF/UHF and if you want a suggested on which one to buy the RCA TVPRAMP1R gets really good reviews and can be had for around $25-$35 online and even cheaper on Ebay.

      Good Luck.

  17. Hi, I am no longer getting Grit TV on 22.4; they changed it to something else. Is there another channel that might have it?
    Thanks, B

    ReplyDelete
  18. Unfortunately the owners (Sinclair Broadcasting) of WKEF 22 removed Grit from their line up about a week ago. Fortunately WXIX 19 out of Cincinnati continues to carry Grit on 19.3.

  19. Why can't we get cet channel 14 out of cinn.

    1. Nothing I've heard of. Seems the broadcasters are kind of laying low on adding anymore sub-channels since the last spectrum auction took away more of the OTA band.
Sounds bad for free TV but it's not.

Once ATSC 3.0 rolls out, broadcasters will be able to add a whole lot more new sub-channels to their TV stations.

    2. This ATSC 3.0 What is it what or how it works?

    3. Ok! Just when is ATSC 3.0 due out?

  25. Not sure which channel listings you're using but for whatever reason Titan TV guide isn't listing the Ion network either, but Ion is still broadcasting in Dayton on channel 43.1.

  27. Channels 22 and 45 are not coming in (26.2 AND 20.1 aren't either)...what's going on?!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Click on the Over The Air header at the top of the page and it will take you to the main blog. The answer to the missing channels is that 22 and 45 are temporally running on low power until they get their new equipment installed (same thing for 64 out of Cincinnati and many other TV stations around the country). 26.2 I have no idea about but if 26 comes in, all of their sub channels should be coming in too. As far as WLWD ch. 20 goes, well they should have moved off of real channel 20 on the 18th since WLWT ch. 5 out of Cincinnati is now using that frequency. I believe WLWD is still on the air but ch. 5's signal is so strong that no one can pick up WLWD anymore.
