Looking Back, June 12, 2009. Full power analog channels go off the air.

Analog TV had a great run lasting from the late 1940's till 2009*. I was able to get some video of two Dayton channels shutting down their analog signals, which I posted on Youtube several years ago.

The whole video last a little over two minutes and the first part of it shows WHIO 7 shutting down. Funny stuff here since channel 7 didn't go off air for several seconds after their countdown ended.

The second video is of WKEF 22 shutting down. I really enjoyed theirs because they did it the way  over the air TV stations use to do it back in the day when most would shut down every night, with a video playing the National Anthem. Classy Classy.
Way to go, WKEF!

*Some low powered TV stations still broadcast on analog but will have to either shut down or go digital by Sept. 2015.
